More Painting

Our new house is coming along great!  I do have to admit this I HATE PAINTING!!!!!  But it has to be done and I can't expect Kyle to do it all himself.  So last weekend between all my projects I got the other spare bedroom done so Kyle didn't have to do it.  It is the same color as the rest of the rooms but we did one wall a dark brown.  I was worried that I wasn't going to like the dark brown cuz it wasn't dark enough for me, but it is growing on me and I'm starting to like it.

The dark brown wall.  This room is also my craft room so it doesn't look as nice as the other bedroom we did.  This will hopefully turn into a baby's room. =)

Awe my guest bathroom.  I'm super excited how this turned out.  It has this huge mirror that I like but have hated as well.  I have always wanted to finish it some how and I was looking through some blogs and happened upon this blog that put a frame around the mirror and I LOVED the idea.  I couldn't wait to do it.  So I got Kyle to help me pick out the border and he painted it and we glued it on.

WAHOO!  The finished product.  I LOVE IT!!! I can't wait to do it to my mirror in my bathroom.  I want a different border tho. It was so easy too!

I also wanted something in our bathroom to put extra towels on so guests don't have to try and find extra towels and wash clothes. I found this stand at TJ Max and the holder for the wash clothes at Joanns.  I love it.  It holds everything I wanted.  I just wish I had a place for the towels to hang so they could dry after being used.  Hmm any ideas??

Projects

I'M OBSESSED WITH PINTEREST!!!!!  I can't get enough of pinterest lately.  I'm so glad my friends Shae and Savanah got me hooked on it.  I have tons of websites with good ideas, yummy food, and crafts that I finally decided last weekend I was going to experiment with some of them.  I have tried some of the food and most of them were good.  The ones that weren't I deleted so I didn't make the mistake of making them again.  So my first craft I tried was dying mason jars.  Now it seemed really simple and I already had the supplies but in the end they didn't turn out as good as I had hoped but still they did work.  I didn't follow the instructions completely which is why I think they didn't turn out as well.  Oh well.
The finished product

I saw on pinterest this idea so I used the dyed mason jar I just made and found the little voltive (not sure if that is the right word) at Joanns and put the Q-tips and cotton balls in.  This helped make my guest bathroom look complete.

This is the red mason jar that I dyed.  I'm trying to get us to have a date night once a month and it seems like when we do go on dates we do the same ol' dinner and a movie thing.  I want different ideas so I found a ton of ideas from expensive to super cheap.  On pinterest this girl had this cute jar that had popsickle sticks in it with the ideas written on them.  She uses this for the nights of "What should we do for our date".  I'm hoping this will help us come up with some fun and creative dates.

Finally this is my last idea from pinterst that I wanted to try.  I have all these necklaces and bracelets but no where to put them.  They have been in the box I packed them in from the old house just waiting to be put on display.  Kyle has wanted to get me a jewlery box but I just don't have anywhere to put it.  So I saw the idea of using a rake to hang them on and LOVED the idea.  It fits in so perfect with the theme of our house that I just had to do it.  Plus it was perfect for my scarves too.  I'm so glad that I finally put some of the ideas from pinterest to use.

Thunder Over Utah

For the first time the Blue Angels came to St. George UT.  They picked the worse weekend to come but it was still neat to see all the stunt planes, planes that had been used in different wars, reenactment of what happened in World War II, and the Blue Angels.  I can't remember what each plane is called so you will just have to enjoy the pictures. =)

This is the plane that is in the picture above taking off.  It was HUGE!!!  It was way cool watching it leave. I didn't think it would get off the ground fast enough.  Sorry the picture is kinda wierd I was playing with the cool features on my phone.

This one was crazy to watch.  The propellers can face forward too.

The Blue Angels

They did so many cool stunts.  I wish I hadn't wasted my time on getting good pictures and just enjoyed the show.

Us at the show.  It was SO COLD and windy, but we were prepared for it.  I felt bad for all the little kids in shorts.  Their parents should have known better and dressed them in snowsuits!

Grandma Bleazard's 102nd Birthday!

My grandma turned 102 this year!
No one thought she would make it this long but she has surprised us all!  She was in a great mood and told everyone she could go another 5 years.  I just hope she stays in the good mood.  We had a party for her and it was great seeing my cousins and my aunt and uncles.  I wish everyone could have made it for the party.

Dumont 2012

We went to Dumont Sand Dunes again over Presidents Day. We went with our friends Jeff and DelRae, Rob and Vicki, Sam and Lorna, Kendall, and a bunch of other friends. The weather was actually pretty nice which was nice since we kept hearing home was getting snowed on. There weren't as many people as there had been in the past but there were still a lot of people out at the sand dunes.

Me at the top of Comp Hill looking down.

Looking from the top of Comp hill at all the people.

A night view of all the campers. Its fun to look at everyones camp site at night because everyone has something blinking so they can find their camp at night.

Looking up at comp hill from the bottom.
We had a great time with our friends from Vegas and it was so nice to hang out in the sunshine and the sand. Wish we could have taken it home with us since we went home to find snow everywhere.

Grandma Harding's 90th Birthday!

Kyles grandma turned 90 this year and we were able to go to her birthday party.  She was so fun to watch cuz she loved all the attention.  It was a great turn out and I got to meet alot of Kyles cousins. They are a fun bunch of people and I hope we get together again.  I wish I had gotten more pictures of the cousins all together and our family picture.

More additions to the House

We have slowly been working on our house trying to get it the way we want it.  We did finally paint the master bedroom and it took out perfect.  We have the same brown that is in the laundry room and spare bedroom and then we did a dark blue accent wall.
Before the paint
One wall painted
My bathroom is done.  Now I just need to get the mirror framed.

Finished product
Every room with a window will have these nice dark brown blinds
Finished room.  I couldn't have asked for a better turn out.
We put a fire place in our basement to help with our heating bill.  So far it is SO NICE!  I'm not a fan of gathering wood but I love the heat!

Zac Brown Band Concert

For Christmas Kyle and I spent it with his family.  We had a nice family dinner at his sisters house and had some way good food.  After dinner we went to the cemetary to light some candles at his dad's grave.  It was a really nice evening.  For Christmas we didn't get eachother anything cuz we have been very spoiled this year.  We got a new house, new barbeque grill, and cell phones.  We have been very blessed.

Now for the fun part of this entry.  In January Kyle and I went to Las Vegas (again) to see Zac Brown Band in concert.  It was so awesome.  Once again we stayed at Hooters Casino cuz it was cheap and our concert was at Mandalay Bay.  So we were able to walk over to the concert.  It was on a Friday night and we had dinner at our favorite place Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and then went to Mandalay Bay Casino.  We took the tram over cuz I refuse to drive in Vegas when we can walk everywhere.  It is so much easier and faster.

Us waiting for the tram. Not the best picture but it was the best out of all the attempts. =)

THE CONCERT!

The were 2 opening bands but in my opinion they were horrible.  BUT Zac Brown Band was AWESOME!!!!  They had a cool set up for their band.  I loved how they had different band members sing the songs and the background was cool and it was just amazing.  I LOVED all their songs and it seemed like the concert kept going and going and I didn't want it to stop.  We had good seats too and that always helps.
I loved the background for this song.  I wish I could remember which song it was.  I wanna say Free which I love that song alot.  I would recommend going to these guys in the future.
Of course we made the trip to the famous Pawn store from the show Pawn Stars.  We had tried going friday but the line was too long so we got up early Saturday morning and headed over there.  It was a good thing cuz when we left the line was super long.  One of the workers there said the guys on the show are always there at the store they just sit in the back in the office until someone has something good to sell.  The filming crew is there Monday thru Friday.
BELLAGIO!
I just can't ever make a trip to Vegas and not stop at the Bellagio Casino.  It really is my favorite.  We went to the Conservatory and the next few pictures are from that.  It was obviously the celebration of the Chinese New Year.

Then we made the trip over to the MGM Grand Casino to see the Lion exhibit.  I wanted to see it before they shut it down.  It was free and sometime soon they are shutting it down cuz of cost.  It was always fun to see the Lions out there playing.
Then later Saturday night we saw the show Zumanity.  It is a Cirque Du Solei show.  It was amazing and very different.  I do have to say that Mystere is still my favorite but I'm glad we saw it.

We definately had a great time in Vegas.  We went to the Hard Rock Casino and walked around and looked at all the memorbilia in there and ate at the Hard Rock Cafe.  We also went to the Flamingo Casino and saw the fish and flamigos there.  I was able to check off a bunch of things on my list of things to do and see in Vegas.  Our next trip to Vegas if it isn't for NASCAR will be for Nickelback and I can't wait for that!!!!!
