Gage LOVES his sister

Gage is so in love with his sister. He climbs up the bassinet and looks at her and wants to touch her. He doesn't seem too jealous yet =)

Ashlyn makes the funniest faces! She sleeps a lot and loves to snuggle.

I was trying to get a picture of the kids with Grandma Bleazard before she left but Gage was not cooperating at all.  Ashlyn just slept through the whole ordeal. Grandma Bleazard stayed with us for a week and spoiled us. She came with me and the kids to Ashlyn's 3 day appointment because Kyle wasn't able to go.  She played with Gage while I focused on Ashlyn and that was so nice.

The binky was slightly too big for Ashlyn and for the most part she preferred her fingers. We did switch out her binky with a different one because we are trying to wean Gage off his.  So far we aren't having much luck.

More Hospital Pics

I don't know how we got so lucky to have this perfect miracle.  We had lots of visitors come by, Gage was doing awesome at daycare, it finally snowed the day Ashlyn was born, Kyle got his own bed in my room which was awesome, and we got to go home early. I did have to have the nurses take her in the middle of the night cuz she was starving and I needed some sleep. We did need to bring Ashlyn back for another hearing test and she passed. We took her to her 3 day appointment and Ashlyn weighed 6lb 5oz which put her in the 13th percentile, still 19 1/2 inches in the 46 percentile, and her head measured at 13 1/2 inches in the 33rd percentile. At her 2 week appointment she was back up to 7 pounds and in the 12th percentile, 20 3/4ths long in the 64th percentile, and her head measured 14 1/4 in the 52nd percentile.  She is a good eater and for the most part sleeps ok.  She is quite the cat napper.

I love that Kyle writes on the board in the room.

Ashlyn's outfit to go home in.

Baby #2 is a..... GIRL!!!

We dropped Gage off at daycare (his favorite place in the world) and off we went to the hospital to check in by 7am. I was being induced and our baby was coming today.  I had been having a few contractions but nothing that made me go into labor on my own.  We arrived and had an amazing team waiting for us. Our nurse asked us to have some goals for the birth and we joked about having our baby before 9 and we decided to have our goal be by 10am. The team had been warned by my previous Labor and Delivery nurses that I go pretty fast. I got my IV, talked about an epidural, was put on pitocin at 730, and got my water broke around 8 am.  Finally decided to try the epidural and contractions started happening.  Wayne put the epidural in and hung out for a few minutes to make sure it was going to work.  Everyone in the room left for some reason and I started to feel like I needed to push. I called for Kyle and he came back into the room and went and got my nurses.  The nurse checked me and our babies head was sitting right there.  I asked a few times if I could push and the nurses told me no and to wait for the doctor. Thank goodness for the epidural cuz I was able to wait for Dr. Gatherum to get his gown and gloves on this time.  With 2 pushes our baby girl was born at 8:52am. We were shocked! I was not expecting an adorable redheaded baby girl.  Shse was perfect! They placed her on my belly and she just slobbered all over me and not crying.  I loved cuddling her but her body temp was going down so they moved her to the warmer where she calmly laid there enjoying the warm air.  She was so quite that we had to keep checking on her to make sure she was still breathing. I had tested positive for strep b and since I wasn't on the antibiotics for the 4 hours before her birth we were told we needed to stay for 2 days to keep an eye on her. But after a day and a half she was doing great and they let us go home.
Welcome to the world Ashlyn Michelle Harding!!!!
You weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces, measured 19 1/2 inches and had blondish red fuzz on your head.

We couldn't have been more excited for a baby girl.  It did take us a day or two to get over the shock but We were so excited!!!!
