More Hospital Pics

I don't know how we got so lucky to have this perfect miracle.  We had lots of visitors come by, Gage was doing awesome at daycare, it finally snowed the day Ashlyn was born, Kyle got his own bed in my room which was awesome, and we got to go home early. I did have to have the nurses take her in the middle of the night cuz she was starving and I needed some sleep. We did need to bring Ashlyn back for another hearing test and she passed. We took her to her 3 day appointment and Ashlyn weighed 6lb 5oz which put her in the 13th percentile, still 19 1/2 inches in the 46 percentile, and her head measured at 13 1/2 inches in the 33rd percentile. At her 2 week appointment she was back up to 7 pounds and in the 12th percentile, 20 3/4ths long in the 64th percentile, and her head measured 14 1/4 in the 52nd percentile.  She is a good eater and for the most part sleeps ok.  She is quite the cat napper.

I love that Kyle writes on the board in the room.

Ashlyn's outfit to go home in.

Baby #2 is a..... GIRL!!!

We dropped Gage off at daycare (his favorite place in the world) and off we went to the hospital to check in by 7am. I was being induced and our baby was coming today.  I had been having a few contractions but nothing that made me go into labor on my own.  We arrived and had an amazing team waiting for us. Our nurse asked us to have some goals for the birth and we joked about having our baby before 9 and we decided to have our goal be by 10am. The team had been warned by my previous Labor and Delivery nurses that I go pretty fast. I got my IV, talked about an epidural, was put on pitocin at 730, and got my water broke around 8 am.  Finally decided to try the epidural and contractions started happening.  Wayne put the epidural in and hung out for a few minutes to make sure it was going to work.  Everyone in the room left for some reason and I started to feel like I needed to push. I called for Kyle and he came back into the room and went and got my nurses.  The nurse checked me and our babies head was sitting right there.  I asked a few times if I could push and the nurses told me no and to wait for the doctor. Thank goodness for the epidural cuz I was able to wait for Dr. Gatherum to get his gown and gloves on this time.  With 2 pushes our baby girl was born at 8:52am. We were shocked! I was not expecting an adorable redheaded baby girl.  Shse was perfect! They placed her on my belly and she just slobbered all over me and not crying.  I loved cuddling her but her body temp was going down so they moved her to the warmer where she calmly laid there enjoying the warm air.  She was so quite that we had to keep checking on her to make sure she was still breathing. I had tested positive for strep b and since I wasn't on the antibiotics for the 4 hours before her birth we were told we needed to stay for 2 days to keep an eye on her. But after a day and a half she was doing great and they let us go home.
Welcome to the world Ashlyn Michelle Harding!!!!
You weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces, measured 19 1/2 inches and had blondish red fuzz on your head.

We couldn't have been more excited for a baby girl.  It did take us a day or two to get over the shock but We were so excited!!!!

35 and 36 Wks

We can't wait for our baby to get here! I've been horrible at getting pictures taken but here I am at 35 and 36 weeks a long.  I went to the doctor and this baby might come sooner than expected which stressed me out =) I thought I was ready until now.  I didn't have a girls outfit incase this baby is a girl and I didn't have a blanket for them to be wrapped in.  My work always rents the movie theater in December as a thank you and so we took Gage to it and saw the Penguins of Madagascar.  It was a cute show and Gage watched the whole thing.  We were worried he wouldn't last very long, but he couldn't stop eating the popcorn and I don't think he blinked very much either.  After the movie Gage and Kyle went home and I was off to buy an outfit and material for a blanket.  Once I got those I felt so much better and went home and packed my hospital bag. Now I'm ready =)

Christmas

Gages last Christmas as an only child (per say). We went over to Kyles sister Karolee's house for Christmas Eve and they had gotten a puppy and Gage and their puppy had so much fun.  Gage pretty much got mauled by the puppy.  Gage also loved playing cars with everyone.  The missionaries were invited over and it was fun talking to them and sharing Christmas with them and after they left Santa Clause showed up and gave the kids each a present.  Gage got a toy truck.  After we left her house we all went to the cemetary to visit their dads grave.  Then we went back to our house and Gage got to open one present and it was his pj's.  They were big boy pj's because they didn't have feet on them =)

Santa came!!! Gage got legos, a wooden block train, boots (that don't fit), socks, toy plane, and bath toys that were bubble guppies. He opened the socks first and didn't want to open anything else. I think it was for fear of more socks. He seemed pretty disappointed. =)  Kyle and I got a dvd system to put in the car for the kids to watch and make traveling much easier.

He sure loved eating his candy from his stocking =) he also got a couple more cars in his stocking.

He is playing in the huge box we got that our new stroller came in.  He had a pretty good time and it was nice because it kept him in one spot =)
