Last weekend Kyle and I went for a drive out west. Our destination was Stateline Mining District. I don't know if anyone remembers but somewhere in this area is where an elderly couple was stuck in the snow for awhile last year. Kyle said they were living on cat food which is way gross. We had never been there before and did alot of searching on the internet on how to get there. In reality it was way easy. The first thing you come upon is just a chimney from an old house. I wish I would have gotten a picture but I'm pretty sure you have an image in your mind of a stone chimney.
Then the next thing you come upon is this big building that has no front or roof on it anymore. It is a huge building and people have brought couches in there and other stuff. We didn't dare go inside which surprises most of you cuz Kyle and I are pretty daring when it comes to going inside gold mines. I don't know much of the history of this place though. The internet doesn't provide much.
This next picture is of the mill on a mountain side. This is a very close up picture. We didn't climb up to it since there was alot of snow and mudd on the ground. But when it warms up we will go up there. We couldn't believe how huge it was and intact. I'm sure you can't go inside but it would be so cool if you could.
After we went to this little town we decided to keep heading north and see if we can find anything else. We tried to find a gold mind but nothing is marked out there like it is in Desert Springs. There really isn't much but a few people do live out there. Which I coudn't imagine living hundreds of miles away from civilization. It was a fun drive out there and we can't wait to go back once the snow is all gone.
