Relaxing Weekend

This past weekend I was tired of the wind and snow so my AWESOME friend Sunny let Kyle and I use her timeshare down in Mesquite. It was SO nice down there. The weather was awesome. I just wanted to lay out by the pool all day but I couldn't find my suncreen. We had massages on saturday. I totally miss having a massage. I use to do it once a month with my friends and I want to start doing that again. You just feel so relaxed the rest of the day. It was also Mesquite Days that weekend and so it was so busy down there. Lots of things to do. We even did the cosmic bowling which Kyle kicked my butt at. (I'm usually pretty good but for some reason I couldn't bowl.)
When we came back we decided to try out the new rack that Kyle made for the back of the razor to put the dogs in. I didn't get great pics of the rack but it looks so good. Kyle is pretty good at everything he does. You can also tell the dogs LOVED it! Jaxsen is a huge fan of being able to put his head out the window so he was in heaven and Keeta just laid down and enjoyed the ride. I love it cuz I don't have to hold them anymore. That was the best part of the whole ride. Thank you Sunny for the room in Mesquite and Thank you Kyle for going with me to Mesquite and making it alot of fun!!!!

Easter Weekend

This weekend Kyle and I went with his sister and family to the Sand Hollow Sand Dunes. We were hoping to find the sun down there. It was warm but you still had to wear a jacket which was better than a coat! We drove around the back side that I had never been to. It was pretty fun and I wish I would have gotten some pictures cuz the scenery was beautiful. We stopped to have lunch and of course someone always has to break down on their fourwheeler and Kyle always gets to fix it. This time tho it was a stranger and Kyle got his bike fixed in no time. We spent acouple hours there and I didn't want to leave the warm weather but I knew that Keeta was probably cursing me since we left her in her cage.
Also this weekend I have been working on some crafts. It was a busy week and I didn't get to make anything until this weekend. These first pictures are of a candle that I put stamped tissue paper on. For my first try it turned out pretty dang good. If you get too close tho you can tell there is tissue paper. But oh well. I saw the idea on the blog The Idea Room which is on my blog craft list. Just type in embossed candles and you will find it if you want to make some of your own.
Then as you can tell I made some more carrots that I posted earlier. I really like how they look. I'm sure they look like a kindergartner did them but I don't really care. I am just starting to craft so I'm for sure not a pro. I'm just glad that I have a while before another holiday hits. I have so many ideas but just not enough time. Plus most of them are for valentines day too.

Mining

Last weekend Kyle and I went for a drive out west. Our destination was Stateline Mining District. I don't know if anyone remembers but somewhere in this area is where an elderly couple was stuck in the snow for awhile last year. Kyle said they were living on cat food which is way gross. We had never been there before and did alot of searching on the internet on how to get there. In reality it was way easy. The first thing you come upon is just a chimney from an old house. I wish I would have gotten a picture but I'm pretty sure you have an image in your mind of a stone chimney.
Then the next thing you come upon is this big building that has no front or roof on it anymore. It is a huge building and people have brought couches in there and other stuff. We didn't dare go inside which surprises most of you cuz Kyle and I are pretty daring when it comes to going inside gold mines. I don't know much of the history of this place though. The internet doesn't provide much.
This next picture is of the mill on a mountain side. This is a very close up picture. We didn't climb up to it since there was alot of snow and mudd on the ground. But when it warms up we will go up there. We couldn't believe how huge it was and intact. I'm sure you can't go inside but it would be so cool if you could.

After we went to this little town we decided to keep heading north and see if we can find anything else. We tried to find a gold mind but nothing is marked out there like it is in Desert Springs. There really isn't much but a few people do live out there. Which I coudn't imagine living hundreds of miles away from civilization. It was a fun drive out there and we can't wait to go back once the snow is all gone.
