Christmas 2013

We stayed home for Christmas this year and spent it with Kyle's family.  We went over to his sister's house for dinner.  We had a great time being with family. Gage was spoiled by everyone. His big sister Bayli gave him some really cute onsies and a binky with a mustache on it.  Kyle's sister and brother in law gave Gage a toy cell phone which will come in handy since Gage loves to chew on mine.  After we had dinner we all went to the cemetery to visit Kyle's dad.  Gage and I stayed in the car cuz Gage was eating but everyone else went out and lit candles.  When we got home we hurried and let Gage "open" his one gift for Christmas Eve.  It was PJ's and a new blanket.  Boy was he excited =)  Afterwards we put Gage in his PJ's and took a family picture in front of the tree.

CHRISTMAS DAY!!!!
Gage let us sleep in till 7:30 and he slept through the night which was so nice!  We woke him up and got right to opening presents.

The Loot

Gage did pretty good opening presents.  He was pretty interested in his gifts more than I thought he would be.  He didn't even seem to care about the wrapping paper or the boxes.  He loved all the gifts.

Kyle liked his gifts and even smiled for the camera.  Gage was pretty excited for the bead maze and plays with the ring stacker a lot.  The dogs even got gifts.  They got a box of greenies and new rope bones.  I got some slippers, baking dishes, and a blanket.
After we opened gifts and had breakfast we got ready to go to Kyle's mom's house for lunch. Everyone comes over to hangout.  Of course Gage was spoiled once again.  Kyle's mom gave Gage a ball that rolls around and lights up, a dancing monkey toy, and a dog that plays music and teaches kids about hands, feet, ears, and tummy.

Gage got to wear his "My First Christmas" outfit and his reindeer slippers.  He looked so cute.  We had a great time with family and had a great 1st Christmas as a family.

7 Months Old

Gage is 7 months old.  He loves to click his tongue and smiles a lot when you do it back to him.  If you put him in his crib to play he pulls himself up and throws his toys onto the floor.  He sits up by himself and from there he tries to crawl.  He will get in the position and pushes himself around or goes backward.  Sometimes he holds his bottles by himself.  He loves to takes naps and goes to bed at night really well. He likes to roll around in his crib and sometimes sleeps on his stomach.  He loves to eat fruit and you have to mix applesauce with his veggies to get him to eat veggies.  He does not like adult food.  I've tried to give him mashed bananas, banana bread, mashed potatoes, and French fries and he just spits them out and makes a sour looking face.  He does however LOVE chocolate icecream.  We went out to eat at Sonny Boy's and there were giving free icecream cones and I got chocolate and let Gage have a lick and he loved it.   I would put the icecream in front of him and he would lean in and take a taste.  He must be my child =)

On our way out to dinner.

Kyles Back Surgery

Dec 10 we headed up to Riverton for Kyle to have a nerve stimulator implanted into his spine.  He has been having back pain and didn't want to have another fusion.  So we are hoping this will help buy him some time before he needs to have a fusion on levels L3-L4.  Kyle, Gage, and I all went and we stayed the night in a hotel the night before.  We got up the next morning and went to Riverton Hospital for Kyles surgery at 9.  He finally went in around 1030 and was in there for 2 hours.  Kyles Same day nurse Mary was awesome.  She was so nice and took very good care of Kyle.  She loved Gage.  He was in a good mood and was flirting with all the nurses.  Gage and I had to wait in the waiting room and there was a volunteer who was really nice to us.  He made sure everyone had a snack and a drink and would check to see how our loved ones were doing.  Gage did so well waiting for Kyle to be done with his surgery.
Kyle before with a smile.

Kyle after.  Not really smiling but he was doing pretty well.
The nurses on med surg were amazing.  They took such great care of Kyle and were trying really hard to get on top of his pain.  When we were in Vegas the nurses didn't care much if Kyle was doing good or not.  Riverton Hospital has amazing nurses.  They checked on him constantly, made sure Gage and I were doing good, and encouraged Kyle to keep going for walks. There was one CNA who made sure Kyle had all the treats and diet coke he wanted.
There was a nice lady who was making a hat while she waited for her loved one to get out of surgery.  She came over and put the hat on  Gage and asked if she could hold him.  I said of course and Gage really liked her.  When she gave Gage back I gave her the hat back and she went and got this blue one for him.  I wasn't sure if she was just testing the hat out or she was giving it to Gage.  I have to admit this hat was so much better.  Gage just looks adorable in it.

Kyle is recovering well and we are hoping the stimulator works for him.  He gets it turned on next week after all the swelling has gone down.
Gage and I went to the movie Frozen and we had to go without Kyle because he didn't think he could sit there since he was still recovering from surgery.  My work rented the theater and we had a great time.  This was Gage's first movie and I was excited for him to see Frozen.  He did really good but didn't really care to watch the movie.  I never had to get up with him but he ate twice, took a nap, and stared at the guy we were sitting by.  I'm sure the guy wasn't too thrilled that we were sitting next to him but by the end of the movie Gage  had won him over.  We missed having Kyle with us but the next time we take Gage to the movie all 3 of us will be there.
Gage's babysitter Jessica sent me this picture of him in the exersaucer.  He sure loves being there.  Jessica is amazing and her husband and kids just love Gage.  Every time I go to pick Gage up her son Max gives Gage a kiss goodbye.  He is so sweet.
For Christmas Jason and Tracy gave Gage a toy that I had given their kids years ago.  He is loud and obnoxious but Gage loves it and so far it doesn't bug us.  Gage puts it in his mouth like he is going to play the saxophone.  He is a smart kid =)

Thanksgiving 2013

We traveled to my parents house for Thanksgiving and everyone was able to make it.  Gage is getting better at these long drives but still has to get out and stretch his legs.  We also planned to have family pictures taken since we don't have a very recent picture.  We were there for 4 and a half days and I wish it was longer.  The day after Kyle and Wes drove out to Provo to do some black Friday shopping.  They made it back just in time for family pictures.  We had a great time being with family and looking forward to the next time we are able to get together.

Gage sure enjoyed seeing everyone and playing with his cousins.  He really liked playing with his toes =)

Great Grandma Bleazard was even able to come and spend a few hours with us for Thanksgiving.  She seemed to be in a good mood and we enjoyed having her there.  She really likes Gage and can't believe how cold his feet are.  Guess I need to keep socks on his feet =)
I'm so glad Grandma was able to make it for Thanksgiving.  She is a huge part of my life and I couldn't have asked for a better Grandma.  We are lucky she is still here to watch us grow up.
I love this picture of Grandma smiling at Gage.  He liked looking at her too but was too squirmy for her.  She tried to keep a hold of him though.
Grandma was ready to leave to of course we had to get pictures with her.  Gage was too hungry to make it into the grandkid picture but I'm glad I was able to get one with my siblings.  We did not purposely coordinate our outfits even though it looks like it =)

2nd Hair Cut

Gage's hair is growing like crazy.  Now if we could get the rest of him to grow that fast that would be awesome!  We cut his hair in November right before my family pictures.
BEFORE
AFTER

Don't you just LOVE that face!!
He is now getting a bald spot on the back of his head.  It makes me sad but he has made it a long time keeping all his hair when everyone told me it would fall out.  It has lightened up a lot since he was born and I'm still not sure what his hair color will be.  It has a lot of blond and red highlights and regrowth but hopefully it stays brown.

6 Months Old

Gage is 6 months old!!!  I can't believe it. He is so much fun and I love watching him grow up and discover things. At his 6 month check up he weighed 14lb 3oz which puts him in the 3% and 26 in long which is 31%.  His head circumference is 17 in which is the 31%.  Gage loves to sit up and he rolls over if you motivate him to.  He loves to talk and sometimes is very serious with his conversations.  He has begun sleeping through the night most nights.  He also likes to make raspberries on my arm.  He LOVES the exersaucer and lives in it most of the day.  His hair is getting really long and needs a hair cut

I LOVE this picture.  He is so handsome!
