Presidents Weekend at Dumont Sand Dunes 2013

We got to go to the sand dunes this year for Presidents day and it was such a beautiful weekend and a much needed vacation from work. It had been a year since we were there last.  We have been going to these dunes for 7 years now and every year the population of people gets smaller.  There were hardly any people this year.  The days were pretty warm and the nights were cold but overall it was still a nice vacation.  We met up with our friends from Vegas who go all the time and it was nice to see them and catch up on everything.  Kyle went on a bunch of rides and recorded them.  I also went on a ride with the group over to some smaller dunes.  It was nice to go on the ride but being pregnant didn't make it very fun.

Every Presidents day they hold races to see who has the best atv or jeep.  We usually go over and watch for awhile  It also gives the dogs a chance to go for a ride.
We also made it over to Comp hill to watch all the atv's show off.  As you can tell it is super dusty and I'm a baby when it comes to being cold.  It is a lot of fun tho to go and see all the decked out atv's, sand rails, and trucks out there.  It is crazy how much money some people have =)
Even though it was super dusty at times it sure made for some pretty sunsets.
We were sad to leave the nice weather and good friends but it was time to make the trip home.  On our way out of the park we saw a fox running along the road which we were just talking about how we had never seen any animals out there before.
A picture of the dogs as we were leaving the park.  Jaxsen loves going to the dunes because there are a ton of other dogs to play with.  He was pretty sad to leave.  Keeta though did not like being there cuz she doesn't like other dogs very much and we learned she does not like fires.  It is probably cuz she can't see very well and she doesn't know the people very well either.  Oh well she will have to get use to it since we like the sand dunes.  We can't wait till our next trip out there and next time we will have an addition to our family. =)
