Gage's Room

Gage's room has been a work in progress ever since we found out we were pregnant.  Not knowing what we were having made it hard but I also didn't want to pick a theme that I would have to redo when he gets older.  So looking on pinterest I found some things I really wanted to do and had to wait until we knew if we were having a boy or girl.  I wanted to put pictures of him up instead of random animals and such.  I came across a smoking good deal and was finally able to put his room together.  I ordered pictures of him from a company that does canvas pictures and they were 85% off.  I couldn't resist ordering Gage's pictures now.
The wall with changing table before picture.  No judging the table is still a work in progress.

These are two pictures of Gage right after he was born and his footprints.

 The after picture.
The saying I found on pinterest.  It says "On a typical spring day at 4:09 in the afternoon on 05 16 2013 they placed a 6lb, 10oz miracle in our arms.  One week early, and only 1 1/2 hours after arriving at the hospital He was perfect.  We named him Gage Stephen." The top picture is the first picture we took of Gage and the bottom is later that evening.

The final product.

The pictures turned out perfect and his room is just how I wanted it.  I love it!!!  Now I guess it is time to put him in his room.  I will miss having him next to the bed and listening to his noises.

4th of July Celebration

For the 4th of July we went camping to our favorite spot.  Kyle had both the 4th and the 5th off so off we went.  I was excited to finally use the blanket I made for July.  We had a really good time.  We met up with some friends at Brianhead to watch the fireworks.  We heard they were really good and they really were.  Probably the best show I have seen.  I was in the truck with Gage cuz he was hungry so we missed out on being outside in the rain and I guess the lightning was really cool with the fireworks too.  It was nice to get out of town and hang out with some friends.

All dressed up for the 4th.  This is also the first pictures of him smiling on camera.  Such a cutie!

It was cold so he was wrapped up in the blanket and I put a rag around his head to keep him warm.

Waiting for it to get dark enough for the show.

We hope to be camping again and close enough to drive to Brianhead cuz they had a really good show.  We were surprised how many people actually came.

First Camping Trip

This past weekend we went camping to our favorite spot.  We have always had the place pretty much to ourselves but this year there was a huge family reunion going on, an archery thing, we had 5 other trailers behind our camp spot and still more people coming in.  It was crazy how busy it was.  We wanted to take Gage camping to see if he will like it and we wanted to get wood for the winter too.  Kyle worked his butt off getting the wood by himself.  Gage did really well.  He actually took naps.  Must be something about that mountain air.
Gage wasn't quite sure if he wanted to go camping when we first got there.

He went to his happy place =)

He finally decided it wasn't so bad to be camping.

Chillin in his crib.

The dogs did go with us and at one point I some how offended Jaxsen.  He was drooling really bad and I didn't want him up on the bench so I told him no.  He went to bed and I had to convince him to come out and when he did he went and sat behind this garbage bag.  It was funny but I did feel bad that I hurt hid feelings.

We had a great time camping.  We weren't able to have a fire so we spent most of our time in the trailer.  It was a little windy too but when our friends Brandon and Lindsey showed up the wind calmed down enough for us all to hang outside.  We can't wait to go again.

Month Old

Time is going by way too fast for me.  Gage is already a month old!  He has changed so much.  He gets cuter every day.  His Aunt Carrie came to visit so we had to snap a picture of them together.

Out cold thanks to his Aunt Carrie.

Gage posing for me on the couch =)   He is such a good baby.  I can't imagine life without him now!  We are truly blessed to have him part of our family.  Now if we can just convince the dogs that he is a good addition.
When we took Gage to his 2 week appointment he weighed only 6 pounds 3 ounces which put him in the 3rd percentile.  His height was 20 inches which was the 25th percentile and his head was 14 which was the 21st percentile.  He only gained 3 ounces and that was not enough.  He started him on formula hoping he will gain weight.  I took him back a week later and he was 6 pounds 14 ounces. WAHOO! He gained weight.  I felt so much better.

Tuacahn 2013

It was time for the annual girls get together for Tuacahn and staying at the condo.  This year tho Gage was the first boy to crash the all girl party.  He seemed to have a good time and everyone was loving on him.  We went to the pool and Gage just hung out by the pool.  He hasn't been outside much but he was pretty content and slept the whole time.
Chillin by the pool with grandma holding him.

The girls having a good time in the pool.

Kyle wanted some pictures of his son morning and night and this is one of the night time pictures.

Grandma holding Gage.
We had a great time.  Everyone but Gage and I went to Mary Poppins.  They said they liked the show but the wind was kinda annoying.  We went shopping and out to dinner and met up with our Aunt Faye.  I'm glad we get together every year.  It is nice to just hang out with the girls sometimes.

1 Week Old

Good Morning World!  Well maybe he wasn't thinking good morning.  Gage is 1 week old today!  Time is really going by way too fast for me.  This little guy is so cute and so much fun.  I never really knew this kind of love existed.

Such a cutie!!
He is officially 1 week old in this picture.
He is really a good baby and I can't imagine life without him!
When we took him to the doctors office to meet our pediatrician he weighed 6 pounds, which put him in the 6th percentile.  He was 19 inches, which was the 18th percentile and his head measured 13 1/2, which was in the 17th percentile.  Gage has a lot of catching up to all the other kids his age!

He Is Here!!!!

Well we thought we had 1 week left.  I worked Wednesday day and then I was on call that night and we worked until 1130 that night.  I had been having contractions all day but they didn't hurt too bad and they weren't very close so I figured I was having the "Braxton Hicks" contractions.  As the night went on they started to hurt and get worse.  I called Kyle telling him I was going to be working late and I was so upset about being at work that night and being 39 weeks pregnant that I told him we were doing whatever we needed to do to try and induce labor so I could have this baby tomorrow!  During the last case I kept telling myself I was going to go down to OB and at least get checked because I was worried I was in labor or at least close to being.  By the time we were done and able to go home I had decided I was just going to go home and shower and tell Kyle I might be in labor.  The contractions didn't get any better but they weren't very close time wise either.  So I went home and decided to just go to bed cuz I had been working and on my feet for 17 hours and I just wanted to sleep.  So the next morning Kyle and I went to St. George so Kyle could get a shot in his back.  The contractions had stopped over night but I was still worried.  I got my bag packed for the hospital and when we came home from St. George we went to my doctors appointment at 2:15 to see how I was doing.  I had been dilated to a 2 the week before.  I was dilated to a 4 and my doctor asked me if I wanted him to break my water today or the next morning.  I was so nervous that I almost told him no.  I didn't want to be pregnant anymore and I really wanted to find out what we were having that I finally said yes to having my water broke.  I walked over to OB and was in my bed by 2:30 and the doctor came over broke my water and they hooked me up to pitocin.  The contractions came every 2 minutes and got worse as the time went by.
Me closing my eyes as the contractions came.

\
Kyle was nervous.  He didn't like seeing me in pain.

I was trying to call family and friends to inform them that I was in labor and our baby was coming any time.  I asked for an epidural and it went very smooth but I didn't feel any relief from the epidural.  My friend Shawn who was the CRNA who put in the epidural kept trying to figure out why it wasn't working and kept putting drugs in it to help me out. The contractions were coming very fast and lasting longer and we decided to replace the epidural and they tried to get me to sit up and I felt the need to push!  They laid me back in bed and the nurse checked and I was definitely ready to push.  They called the doctor and told him to run or else he was going to miss it.  He showed up in time to put gloves on and catch our baby BOY!  I was in shock!  I really didn't know what to think or to cry or what to do.  He was perfect!  I had been in hard labor for 29 minutes!
