Vegas - Freemont Street

Well I will start our AWESOME weekend with a lame pic from freemont street. =)  We went to Las Vegas for the Nickelback concert and it happened to land on Halloween weekend.  We got to Vegas late friday night and decided to head down to freemont street after wandering the strip looking for people dressed up.  It was pretty fun.  The overhead show had music from the doors and also the monster mash.  It was a pretty good show compaired to when we were there in June. They also had a few stages with shows on it and they were ok.  There was a magic show that had a few good tricks.  It was just fun to see all the people dressed up.  We were going to dress up but didn't as you can tell.  Now I promise the next posts will get better and show what an awesome weekend we really did have!

Firehouse

Last weekend Kyle and I went to the Firehouse concert.  I had a blast.  Kyle did not =(  We didn't know what to expect but we did know it was outside.  We wished we had taken camping chairs cuz we could have sat front row for the concert. Instead we sat on the cement block seats on the side of the arena and Kyle was miserable the whole time, but we did enjoy the music.  Firehouse had a few good songs.  Most of them we hadn't heard before but for being as old as there are they still sound great.  I also got to see two of my good friends who I haven't seen in like 8 years.  Lorey and Christy.  They looked great!  I do tho think that Lorey could eat a few boxes of twinkies and still look great. =)
Needless to say Kyle and I had a good time watching all the wierd people and the ones who are still stuck in the 80s.  I was quite surprised to see the fashion trend of tight short shorts and knee high boots.  I always figured you wore pants with boots but I was proved wrong. (or maybe they were wrong?? actually there were a few too many who were WAY TOO WRONG) Another fashion trend that I don't agree with is mullets.  I wish I had taken my camera cuz there were some good mullets out there.  I mean bad ones.  I don't think a mullet ever looks good. =)  There were older people (now when I say older I mean like the 40 and 50ish.  they were the ones sporting the mullets and other band T-shirts) who got out there lighters for the slow songs and the way younger generation (in there teens) who had they cell phone lights on swaying to the songs.  Also one couple got escorted out for being too rowdy.  So atleast with all that to watch we had a good time.  Thank you honey for going to the concert with me!!!!!

Projects!

This year I told myself I was going to make crafts since I've always been the person to go out and buy the cute things cuz I'm too lazy to make them myself.  So the past couple months I have made some things and it is about time I posted them.  First is a baby puff quilt.  This quilt has been in the process for about 4 years.  It was meant for a friends granddaughter but I got frustrated with my sewing machine so I didn't get it made in time.  Then it was meant for acouple friends but they have now all had their babies so now it is for me if I ever decide I want to have kids. ha ha ha.  The quilt isn't quite done since I still need to tie it but that might take acouple more years.  I do need to thank my mom, my sister Carrie, and my nieces Holly and Savanah.  If they hadn't help me put this quilt together it would still be in pieces.  THANK YOU GUYS!!!!!
Next acouple months ago I finally used my cricut and made some words to put on these containers that are on my counter.  I'm a very organized person so I need to have labels on everything.  Kyle was just glad that I finally used the cricut. I have so many plans for it but I just don't take the time to do anything.

Last year I decided I would put a cookbook together consisting of recipes from my mom, sister Carrie, sister in laws Tracy and Becca, and me of course.  I bugged them all year and finally got it finished and sent to them.  I'm so excited to use my cookbook.  THANK YOU everyone for be so good at getting me the recipes. I hope you enjoy the cookbook!!!

This last picture is a wreath obviously and I made it with fabric that I ripped into strips.  This was the easiest  project I've done. I actually got it done in one day.  The picture doesn't do it any justice cuz I think it is quite cute. I've already bought fabric for a fall and Christmas wreaths.  I need to make a Halloween one before the holiday passes.
I've had alot of fun making crafts and if anyone has any cute ideas for me I would love it!

3 YEARS!!!!

Kyle and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary.  Time sure flies when you are having fun!!  We decided that we wanted to go to Bryce Canyon National Park and thought that our anniversary was a good time.  The weather wasn't too bad and we had a great time. We took the trailer so that we could take the dogs with us.  I'm sure they had a good time but then again stayin in the trailer for two days can't be too much fun right?  Bryce has some beautiful scenery.  The second picture posted is of Bryce Canyon.  I do have to admit once you have seen it every picture starts to look the same.  We spent two days there in Bryce and then we went back to the Red Desert to go camping with our friends Brandon and Lindsey and their kids.  It rained on us both days but when you have good company it doesn't matter.

Thank you Kyle for putting up with me for 3 years! I LOVE YOU!!!!

Family Reunion

We had our family reunion this year and it was so much fun.  Brian and Becca were incharge and we went to the same place as last year up in Huntington Canyon.  As always we had way good food and played lots of card games.  This year Kyle and I were glad that we didn't have any tire problems like last year.  I didn't get any pictures except of a buck that was pretty brave.  He hung around our camp all weekend.  Thank you everyone for a great weekend and we can't wait to do it again next year!

Tarzan

My sister and I got our mom tickets for Mother's Day to go see Tarzan.  So acouple weekends ago we finally went to see it.  It was amazing!  We totally loved it.  I would recommend everyone who loves musicals to go and see it.  The monkeys were so fun to watch.  The people there are so talented. We also went shopping the next day.  It was so nice to have a relaxing weekend with the girls.  Thank you Mom and Carrie for the amazing weekend! I can't wait to do it again.

Moab

For the 4th of July Kyle and I decided to go to Moab. I don't know why we chose to go there but it was fun!  We were shocked by how much there is to do over there.  Moab is an outdoors person's dream!  We stayed in a RV campground and I probably wouldn't stay there again. it was kinda scary.  There was a trailer park that was part of the campground and you didn't want to be any where near that place at night =)  But it was cheap and we were able to bring our dogs with us which was really nice.
Our first adventure was to go hiking in the National Arches Park.  I didn't even know this place existed!  It was awesome.  We went to the Delicate Arch first which is the arch that is on the Utah license plate.  I always hated that license plate but now that I have been there I wish I had that license plate.  This first picture is of the Delicate Arch and Kyle and I are standing infront of it.  I couldn't believe how big it was.  It was such a long hike and it was so hot that when we finally saw the arch we were so excited.  It is crazy cuz you are just hiking and come around a corner and there it is.
The second picture is what they called Sheep Rock.  We were just looking at it and I read the map and as soon as I said Sheep Rock Kyle was all There it is!!  It is kinda crazy how it really looks like a sheep.

The second day of our vacation we went back in the National Arch Park cuz we weren't able to do all the hiking we wanted the first day.  We wanted to see the arch that had fallen and the landscape arch.  So we got up early so we wouldn't get stuck in the heat and headed up to what they call Devils Garden.  The map said it was a 7 mile hike round trip.  (P.S. they lied!!!)  We saw acouple arches before we came to the one we wanted to see.  The Landscape Arch which is pictured below.
We decided to keep going on the hike and see all the arches in the park.  Man we about killed ourselves.  The first couple hours wasn't too bad. We saw the arch that had fallen back  in 2008 and the hike past there wasn't too bad. I really hate heights which might come to a surprise to some cuz I LOVE roller coasters and all. But I feel I'm pretty safe in those with my little seat belt and all.  But hiking on cliffs and rocks where the wind could blow me over the edge or just one wrong step could end my life I really hate that.  But we were there and Kyle really wanted to keep hiking so we did.  There were a ton of other arches in the park that were so cool.  Everyone should go there.  Then it came to decision time.  Do we go back the way we came or take the primitive loop and see some other arches that most people don't get to see.  Well we took the primitive loop.  By the way it says on the sign difficult hike.  They totally under estimated that.  It was the hardest thing I've ever done.  We got to see 2 more arches like the Private Arch.  Then the hike really started.  It took us hours to finish the hike.  We were contemplating about sitting under a tree and waiting for someone to come by and send them for help.  It was so HOT!!!  We were glad that we had packed each water.  If we hadn't we would have been in trouble.  When we came to the end of the hike we felt like there should have been a welcoming commitee saying "YOU DID IT!! You survived!"  But there really wasn't except these two people who said nice job for finishing.  We were pretty proud of our selves for hiking all that we did.
The picture of Kyle and I is at Dead Horse Point.  You can barely see the Colorado River in the back ground.  It looked awesome.  You could see for miles!  Just below where we were is the place they filmed Thelma and Louise driving their car off the cliff.  We also went to a museum that showed all the movies that had been filmed there in Moab.  There were tons!! Plus the celebrities love to visit there.  We can't wait to go back.  Next time we are going to go on the fourwheeler trails and go down the Colorado River.
We ended our trip by watching the fireworks there in Moab.  They had some way cool fireworks.  I had never seen some of them before.  We took the dogs with us and the fireworks didn't even bother them.  I would recommend Moab to everyone whether you are an outdoors person or not.  There are some cool things to do there!

Vegas Baby!

Wow the month of June was so busy! Kyle and I went to Vegas 3 times that month. We went down for the day to meet up with our friends Brandon and Lindsey. It was nice to hang out by the pool and the weather was perfect! We also ate at one of the buffets at the Rio Casino and it was amazing! I can't remember the name it, it was sumthing like Carnival World. I would totally go back and most of the buffets in Vegas are gross. Then we went down again to our friends Jeff and Del Rae's house and celebrated their daughter Kaylie's graduation. It was alot of fun to see all the people we hang out with when we go to the sand dunes. It had been over a year since we have seen all those guys. Congrats Kaylie!!
Then our recent adventure to Vegas was to hang out with my cousin Sandy and her hubby Keith. We had a BLAST!!! We stayed at the Casino Hooters which I am embarrassed to say I stayed there but it was pretty cool. The pool there was so much fun. We hung out by the pool all day Saturday. Then that night we went to Freemont Street since Kyle hasn't been there since they covered it. We walked around alot and ended up at the Golden Nugget. They have an awesome pool there. They have an aquarium with sharks in it! This picture of Kyle and I has the sharks in the back ground. The best part about it is there is a slide that goes thru the aquarium too.

The last picture is of me and Sandy down on Freemont Street. I'm so glad that we finally got to hang out again. It had been since high school or longer that we have hung out. I can't wait until the next time we get together. Her husband is a way cool guy. Thanks Sandy and Keith for putting this together! Can't wait till next time!
