Kyle's projects

The past couple months Kyle has been working on my Grandma Bleazard's kitchen table. I've always wanted a wooden table and we finally got it. Also there was a rocking chair at my grandma's house that was sitting under the carport so I took it. =) The table had so many coats of paint. The first was pink since my Grandma likes pink but there was also 70's green, white, and some light blue. He worked so hard to peel all the paint off and sand the pieces down to make them look good. Once Kyle got all the paint off there was a burn mark on the table. It is the shape of the bottom of a coffee cup. Hmm I wonder if Grandpa Bleazard had anything to do with it =) We were going to paint it black and then sand the edges but the wood was in such great condition we decided to just stain it. I wish Grandma Bleazard could see it!!

I really wish we had gotten a picture of the rocking chair before Kyle took it apart and sanded it down. The rockers were so wore out that he had to make brand new ones. The seat was made out of some kind of mesh and he cut boards to make the seat. Then he painted the chair black. It looks great. Nice job Kyle and Thank you so much for all the time you put into this!!!! Love ya!!

Awesome Weekend

These past few days have been awesome. It first started on Thursday when Kyle and I went to see the comedian Brian Regan. We went out to dinner to the Texas Roadhouse and that place is SOOO GOOD! Then we went and saw Brian Regan. He was so funny! I couldn't stop laughing all night long. Even the guy who opened for him was funny. It was nice to be out on a date with Kyle. It had been a long time!
Then I got to go hang out with my mom and sister at my sister's house. I miss my family! I always love going to my sisters house and seeing my neices and nephew.
Saturday night I went with Kyle and his friend Brandon and his family to the monster truck race. I have to admit it was LAME!!! But the company was fun. We had a good time laughing at the people racing their fourwheelers. Which was really wierd they had fourwheelers racing when we were there to see Monster Trucks. Oh well. But we did get to go out and eat at Olive Garden. So there was a plus side to the whole night.
Then today Kyle and I planted the flowers and shrubs that I had ordered. I'm so excited to see them grow. I can't wait until my pink lilac bush grows. That will be my favorite to watch grow. I'm also excited for my house to not look like a bachelor pad. I will post pictures of my flowers as soon as they start to grow.
Thank you Kyle for some awesome days!! I had a great time! Love you!!!

Camping Season!

Well it is finally camping season!! I love getting out of town and going up the mountian or just about anywhere. This weekend we went with Kyle's sister and her family out to Gold Springs. I'm so glad we did cuz the weather was PERFECT out there. On Saturday it had to of been atleast high 70's. I got so sunburned!! It was nice to just relax and enjoy the company. We ate hobo dinners, hot dogs, and some awesome chicken and potatoe salad! We went for a ride around the gold mines and got to show Karolee and her family all the cool places we go when we come out here. I wish I had thought to grab my camera when we were out driving but I do have pictures on other posts of the places we have seen. All the buildings have been demolished which would have cool if they were still standing up. You see LOTS of tin cans that they would throw in a pile when they were done eating. We had a great time with Kyle's sister and her family and can't wait to camp with them again!!
It was also my puppy's first time going camping. I think she loved it cuz she found herself a new boyfriend. She would not leave Karolee's dog alone!! It is official that I will get her spayed! The last two pics show how tired my dogs were on the way home. Camping always tires them out and I love it.

Relaxing Weekend

This past weekend I was tired of the wind and snow so my AWESOME friend Sunny let Kyle and I use her timeshare down in Mesquite. It was SO nice down there. The weather was awesome. I just wanted to lay out by the pool all day but I couldn't find my suncreen. We had massages on saturday. I totally miss having a massage. I use to do it once a month with my friends and I want to start doing that again. You just feel so relaxed the rest of the day. It was also Mesquite Days that weekend and so it was so busy down there. Lots of things to do. We even did the cosmic bowling which Kyle kicked my butt at. (I'm usually pretty good but for some reason I couldn't bowl.)
When we came back we decided to try out the new rack that Kyle made for the back of the razor to put the dogs in. I didn't get great pics of the rack but it looks so good. Kyle is pretty good at everything he does. You can also tell the dogs LOVED it! Jaxsen is a huge fan of being able to put his head out the window so he was in heaven and Keeta just laid down and enjoyed the ride. I love it cuz I don't have to hold them anymore. That was the best part of the whole ride. Thank you Sunny for the room in Mesquite and Thank you Kyle for going with me to Mesquite and making it alot of fun!!!!

Easter Weekend

This weekend Kyle and I went with his sister and family to the Sand Hollow Sand Dunes. We were hoping to find the sun down there. It was warm but you still had to wear a jacket which was better than a coat! We drove around the back side that I had never been to. It was pretty fun and I wish I would have gotten some pictures cuz the scenery was beautiful. We stopped to have lunch and of course someone always has to break down on their fourwheeler and Kyle always gets to fix it. This time tho it was a stranger and Kyle got his bike fixed in no time. We spent acouple hours there and I didn't want to leave the warm weather but I knew that Keeta was probably cursing me since we left her in her cage.
Also this weekend I have been working on some crafts. It was a busy week and I didn't get to make anything until this weekend. These first pictures are of a candle that I put stamped tissue paper on. For my first try it turned out pretty dang good. If you get too close tho you can tell there is tissue paper. But oh well. I saw the idea on the blog The Idea Room which is on my blog craft list. Just type in embossed candles and you will find it if you want to make some of your own.
Then as you can tell I made some more carrots that I posted earlier. I really like how they look. I'm sure they look like a kindergartner did them but I don't really care. I am just starting to craft so I'm for sure not a pro. I'm just glad that I have a while before another holiday hits. I have so many ideas but just not enough time. Plus most of them are for valentines day too.

Mining

Last weekend Kyle and I went for a drive out west. Our destination was Stateline Mining District. I don't know if anyone remembers but somewhere in this area is where an elderly couple was stuck in the snow for awhile last year. Kyle said they were living on cat food which is way gross. We had never been there before and did alot of searching on the internet on how to get there. In reality it was way easy. The first thing you come upon is just a chimney from an old house. I wish I would have gotten a picture but I'm pretty sure you have an image in your mind of a stone chimney.
Then the next thing you come upon is this big building that has no front or roof on it anymore. It is a huge building and people have brought couches in there and other stuff. We didn't dare go inside which surprises most of you cuz Kyle and I are pretty daring when it comes to going inside gold mines. I don't know much of the history of this place though. The internet doesn't provide much.
This next picture is of the mill on a mountain side. This is a very close up picture. We didn't climb up to it since there was alot of snow and mudd on the ground. But when it warms up we will go up there. We couldn't believe how huge it was and intact. I'm sure you can't go inside but it would be so cool if you could.

After we went to this little town we decided to keep heading north and see if we can find anything else. We tried to find a gold mind but nothing is marked out there like it is in Desert Springs. There really isn't much but a few people do live out there. Which I coudn't imagine living hundreds of miles away from civilization. It was a fun drive out there and we can't wait to go back once the snow is all gone.

Finally!!!

Well I have been saying it for awhile but I've finally took the plunge. I have told myself I would find a hobby to keep myself busy when Kyle isn't home. I have been following some blogs that have way cute ideas for crafts and I've finally started some. They are for sure not the best looking but they were fun. I made some carrots from styrofoam and fabric and they were the easiest thing I've tried so far. I found them Oopsey-Daisy Blog http://oopsey-daisy.blogspot.com. They were pretty easy to make.

These next pictures I saw on the blog http://becauseicancrafts.blogspot.com. I first made the Valentine ones and then moved onto the Easter Egg. I figured I would try to get some more holiday crafts since I only have ones for Halloween and Christmas. These crafts were pretty cheap since most of the stuff I got from the dollar store and our Roberts Crafts is closing so everything is way cheap. I do have to admit these were not the easiest things to make cuz of the moss. I'm just glad I finished them but storing them won't be much fun either.

I've had fun and it's been nice to have something to do. I am in the process of making a puff quilt and I hope I will finish it in the next few months. I've been working on it for about 5 years on and off. It has been a long time since I've made one and I've had a hard time putting it together. Oh well it will look way cute when I'm finished.

CELEBRATION!!!!

This weekend we had alot going on. First we celebrated my Grandma Bleazard's 100th birthday!!! She is such an amazing woman. She seemed really with it and in good spirits. We had a huge turn out and there were people there that weren't able to make it last year. Tons of pictures were taken and good food was served. My mom had made a poster of how many grand children, great grand children and even great great grand children but do you think I can even remember the numbers?? I will have to look up my sisters blog cuz I'm sure she will know all the numbers. I got to see my cousin Sandy who I haven't seen in 10 or so years. I'm so glad that my grandma was able to live to 100 years to bring us all together. I love you Grandma!!!

This picture is of my family with my Grandma Bleazard. We are such a good looking group!!

My siblings. I don't know what I would do without them. I am a lucky person to have the brothers and sister that I have. Thanks guys for always putting up with my crap!!!

My cousin Sandy. Growing up I didn't have many cousins my age that were girls but there was always Sandy. We always had a good time whenever we were together. Sandy I'm so glad you haven't changed. Your husband seems way cool. I can't wait for us to get together and cause some more trouble!!! Vegas here we come!

My new niece Claire. Brian and Becca are the proud parents of red head Claire. She is a doll. She fits in this family well with the red hair and really looks like Savanah's twin. Brian blessed her this sunday and did a great job. Claire never made a peep either.
This weekend was a great weekend. I got to see lots of Aunts and Uncles, cousins and past friends. This was the first time since Claire was born that all my family was able to get together. I have missed my family so much and this weekend was perfect. I LOVE my family!!!
